Revised Blog!!!

Hello!!!

My blog has now been changed and updated to the Nelson Blog!!! Our goal is to have our students and us blog each day about our classroom happenings! Stay tuned for Nelson House updates!!!

Hello!!!

Major changes in my life!

I have moved school districts and grades! I am now a 5th grade teacher at Lineville Intermediate in the Howard Suamico School District! TEAM-yes, I am now part of a 3 person team! I will teaching 3 periods of Language Arts and 1 period writing! The Lord has blessed me with many changes and I am still adjusting to all the newness in my life!!!!!!!! More to come......and Open House is tonight!!!

Front Row Math!

Hello fellow teachers and bloggers!

The school year is quickly approaching!!!

I am starting to get my curriculum and resources mapped out for the year! I thought I'd share a valuable resource I found with you: Front Row Math!

It is a digital based, differentiated, Common Core aligned math practice site! Once you establish a profile you can add your students! They can take placement tests and then the lessons will be matched to their levels. Furthermore, Front Row is free and you can service students from grades K-8th. Additionally, you can get reports on how students are doing and choose which skills they work on. It is such a blessing to have so many wonderful free resources for teachers!

Today I showed my Tech students how to create a Voki!

Can you see the applications to your curriculum: Social Studies-make a president or governor, Science-create a Voki that explains bee pollination or the difference between solids, liquids, gases, Literacy-a character in the story, explaining connections, or reading strategies, Writing-sharing a writing piece, discussing a writing skills, Health-explaining heart healthy habits, etc.....
