Dice and Math-A Great Combo!
HELLO! Welcome to February!
This morning we incorporated dice into our math lesson! We used math to end groups of numbers. For example, 5 sets of 3, etc. Most student got two dice to add and then do groups of the number rolled. The highest they could get was 48. For those students who are above the benchmarks, I gave them dice that went beyond 6. Dice-they are cheap, but a very helpful tool to enhance a math lesson!

Production Time!
Hello! Tomorrow we are half way through the year! WOW!!!
Today we started peer recording ourselves reading books/putting on skits! iPads are wonderful tools that allow young kiddos to express themselves and feel empowered. Additionally, they are able to watch the video and see themselves! What a great tool to monitor their fluency and help their skills flourish!

Matter, What Do you Matter?
Matter-Solids, Liquids, and Gases!!!
We have begun our Matter Unit! Today we discussed the stages of matter. We did a brainstorm about properties of matter and began a host of experiments. Below you see us collecting a solid-snow! We measured the snow line and made predictions of how much liquid is in snow. We made the snow line and then the liquid line once the solid had melted. Next we wrote predictions of when the liquid will change to a gas! Can you guess how much liquid was in a cup of snow?
