2nd Session in Writing

Hello and happy last day of September!!

Today we started our 2nd writing session in Units of Study.  We urgently wrote about a turning point/small moment in a special place.  We wrote like we were dreaming about that place and reliving the experience of being there!  We are so proud of our  young authors!!!

Character Traits/Motives

Hello and happy Monday,

Today we were introduced to character traits and motives.  To kick off our unit we watched  a Frozen Snippet and Pigeon movie to help us understand what traits and motives are and how to distinguish them in a text.  We wrote/journaled down what we thought the character's traits were and what their motives were and discussed them in groups.

Writing about our Book Club Books!

Today, on the first day of fall we wrote about our book club books!  We choose a prompt of a sheet of choices and wrote in our red notebooks.  Many of us wrote a page or two!!!  Wonderful responses 5th graders!!!
