Matter experiment number 7 is done! Our materials were animal crackers, a cup, and water. Our goal was to predict, watch, listen, smell, touch, and then taste what would happen after we put 5 Animal Crackers in water. I had them draw their predictions and also their results. Many were amazed that the water changed colors and how soggy the crackers actually got! A few did not like the taste, but some instantly claimed they needed to try this at home! They definitely understood how quickly the molecules in the Animal Crackers began to change as the water softened the crackers (they also liked to watch the crackers sink and sometimes come back up to the top of the cup).
