Trip to the Public Library
Happy Thursday!
Are your kiddos excited about tomorrow? Wow, are my 2nd Graders eager and buzzing! One would think it's the day before summer break. :)
Yesterday, we walked to the public library. The librarian read a few books with us, did a craft, and then we participated in a listening game! I was so impressed with her enthusiasm and energy! Indeed a great resource for our community!

Dear God Letters!
Happy Tuesday!
Today many of us finished our final draft of our Dear God letters. (I am, as most of you know, a private religious teacher :) ) Many were also able to complete their illustration. We are having these made into a hard cover Student Treasure book. This is a wonderful company that publishes hard cover book editions of books that teachers submit to them. Many of my students have ordered their own copies and of course I want to order one for me, our library, the principal, etc.
Here are a few of our letters to God:

School Store!
A week before Halloween-do you have your costume ready? I think I am going to be tired-literally!
This past week we had our quarterly school store. I am in charge of running the store! All items are $2 and less and the earnings pay to replenish the store! We have the store open once a quarter and all staff and students are invited to shop! Our first school store brought in over $80! Wonderful and eager shoppers=great turn out for our store!

Wear Pink to Support the Cause
HELLO!
Yesterday I asked staff and students to wear pink to support the fight against Breast Cancer. I also had everyone who wore pink come to my room so I could take a picture. Little did they know we were also going to make a Good Day commercial for the local news. Here's our picture!

Cucumber Seeds!
Happy Saturday!
It is a gorgeous sunny day here in Northeast Wisconsin!!
This past week we planted seeds in humus, sand, clay, and soil. We made predictions of what our cucumber seeds would flourish in-what the best growing medium was? By surprise, many seeds in the sand did take off! No surprise, that almost 100 percent of the seeds planted in soil launched!

These are two of the vials! We loved planted in this fashion because one can thoroughly investigate the roots! |
