Snow Much Fun!!

Hello!  Happy 3rd day of winter!

Today we do not have any snow, so we made a game with paper.  We turned it into snow and launched them across the room.  It was a way to get out our excitement and work on strategic intervention to not get touched by snowballs that were "falling from the other side."

Comparisons and Contrasts of Lineville's Classroom Doors

Hello and happy Friday!

Today in Language Arts Nelson House students took a tour of Lineville to take pictures of their favorite decorated classroom doors.  Teachers had the option to decorate their door for the holidays.
Upon returning to the room, students needed to compare and contrast two of their favorite doors.  Factors they needed to look at include:  colors, textures, creativity, originality, time spent, theme, use of materials, etc.

Today we learned about compare and contrast-text structures.

We used hula-hoops and two students as a visual to compare and contrast those students.  Next, we listened to a read aloud of venn diagram from http://robertmunsch.com/  and then used a graphic organizer to compare/contrast to a story of Mr. Munsch's that I read.
